Nisha Kumari, M.Sc., Ph.D. Candidate Tutor (Microbiology), Vedanta Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center Microbiology Department, Malwanchal University, Indore I am Nisha Kumari, a Ph.D. candidate in the Microbiology Department at Malwanchal University, Indore. I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Life Sciences in 2016 and my Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Medical Microbiology in 2020. My academic background has equipped me with a strong foundation in microbiology, and I am deeply passionate about understanding microbial infections and their impact on human and animal health. Currently, my research focuses on Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) and AmpC-producing Enterobacteriaceae, a group of bacteria that pose a significant public health risk due to their resistance to antibiotics. I am investigating the prevalence and mechanisms of these resistant pathogens in broiler chickens and goats . These animals can act as reservoirs for antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, which can be transmitted to humans through the food chain or direct contact, making this research crucial for public health. In addition to my research, I serve as a Tutor in Microbiology at Vedanta Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center. In this role, I teach medical students, sharing my knowledge of microbiology and infectious diseases. I am committed to fostering a deeper understanding of the role microorganisms play in health and disease. My journey began with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in 2005. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to building, managing, and delivering complex software systems across various domains, with a strong emphasis on healthcare and utilities. Currently, I serve as a Program Manager at Molina Healthcare Inc., where I lead cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and product managers to drive AI/ML initiatives that enhance clinical operations. My birthplace is the village ‘Srikrishnapur’ in the district of Birbhum, West Bengal and it was then a remote village having almost no communication, nearest bus stop was at a distance of 10 km. My father, Late Gora Chand Mondal, was a lower middle class farmer and he studied upto class iv. My mother, Late Adarini Mondal, was an illiterate housewife. I have passed School Final Examination under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in first division in the year 1967 securing 100 out of 100 marks in mathematics and on the basis of this result, I was awarded the National Scholarship by Government of India. I have passed University Entrance Examination in 1969 in the first division and then I have passed B.Sc (Hons) examination in Chemistry in 1973 and got second class from Bolpur College, Bolpur, Birbhum. After that I obtained my M.Sc. degree (Inorganic Chemistry) in first class from Visva-Bharati University , Shantiniketan , Birbhum in the year of 1975. I have started my service life as junior lecturer in chemistry in Kandi Raj College from 1978. In September, 1984, I again joined Visva-Bharati University to carry out research work under the Teacher-Fellowship scheme sanctioned by UGC and obtained Ph.D. degree in 1989. My research work was in the field of Water Pollution. I have come back to same college in 1989. Leaving Kandi Raj College, I have joined Berhampore Girls’ College, Berhampore, Murshidabad in 2000. I have retired from my service as Associate Professor in Chemistry from the same on 31.03.2011 at the age of 60. From my very childhood, I had a strong curiosity about the objects in the sky, i.e. about the stars, planets, galaxies, universe etc. From 1990, I have started to think about them and also started to collect information about them from some related books. After retirement, I got enough time to think over them profoundly. I have started to prepare some data about the nature of above mentioned objects on the basis of established scientific theories using simple scientific calculator in my home. And by the way, I obtained some interesting results which contradicted the so called ideas about them. These interesting results have inspired me to publish them in the form of research papers in suitable journal. I have succeeded to do it from 2021 in the highly esteemed journal IJSR (International Journal of Science and Research). During the period from 2021 to 2024, I have been able to publish 4 research papers and I have been awarded the ISSN award. I am very glad to declare that I feel proud of it and it also gives me a great satisfaction.

Inspired by Amazon EKS, I have helped AWS create highly available containerized apps. Apart from creating Python and Bash scripts to increase resource efficiency and lower running costs, my responsibilities have included automating infrastructure deployment using AWS CloudFormation and Ansible. Having been Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Kubernetes, where I have taught engineers and enhanced the knowledge of cloud-native designs, after attending advanced EKS bootcamps I found great gratification. Mostly in charge of running big systems, my contribution has been in using Prometheus and Grafana to offer real-time monitoring and proactive alarms, hence lowering downtime and enhancing user experience. I supported projects for IBM and JP Morgan Chase while working for Dizer Corp., before joining AWS. To increase system dependability and performance, I automated everyday operations at IBM in Columbia, Missouri, moved old systems to the cloud, and maintained advanced Unix/Linux systems.
