Introduction Dr. Tamil Selvi Emperumal is a dedicated medical professional specializing in pharmacology. Born and raised in Tamil Nadu, India, she pursued her higher education in medicine at Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc. in the Philippines, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology and M.B.B.S. degree between 2014 and 2019. Education and Training After completing her postgraduate medical degree at AIIMS, Nagpur, Dr. Emperumal served as a Junior Resident in Pharmacology from July 2021 to July 2024. She is currently undergoing training in pharmacometrics, focusing on AI in drug development through clinical trials. Professional Experience Dr. Emperumal began her professional journey as a Senior Resident at Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences & Research Institute, Coimbatore. She played a pivotal role in pharmacovigilance and materiovigilance programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and teaching medical and nursing students. Additionally, she served as a COVID Duty Medical Officer at the Primary Healthcare Centre in Tuticorin from February to September 2021, contributing to vaccination trials and awareness camps. In April 2023, Dr. Emperumal interned at Pfizer, where she developed promotional materials, reviewed labeling documents for pipeline products, and engaged with healthcare providers to advocate for optimal patient care. Skills and Certifications Dr. Emperumal is proficient in statistical software such as PS, SPSS, PumasAI, Julia, and MONOLIX. She holds certifications in Good Clinical Practice and Pharmacovigilance from the Uppsala Monitoring Centre, as well as courses on clinical research principles from Johns Hopkins University. Achievements Dr. Emperumal secured first place in a national quiz competition conducted by the National Association of Pharmacology & Therapeutics in 2022 and was the first runner-up at the state level quiz competition on current trends in pharmacology in 2023. She was nominated for the International Outstanding Researcher Award in 2025 by ISSN International Science & Technology Awards and Congress associated with the World Research Council, Oxford. Publications and Research Interests Dr. Emperumal has authored several case reports on drug-induced reactions and analytical and observational clinical trials. Her research interests include clinical cases, pharmacovigilance, pharmacogenomics, and clinical trial methodology. She is also passionate about insilico modeling and genome editing techniques like CRISPR-Cas.
