Dr. Shahul Hameed Faizee is a distinguished orthodontist, academician, and healthcare administrator with over twenty-three years of experience in dental education, clinical practice, and institutional leadership. He currently serves as Dean and Head of the Department at Sathyabama Dental College and Hospital, Chennai, where he plays a key role in advancing academic excellence, research, and quality assurance. He specializes in contemporary orthodontics, with expertise in surgical orthodontics, clear aligner therapy, skeletal anchorage systems, functional appliances, and the management of cleft lip and palate. Dr. Faizee completed his Ph.D. in Orthodontics from Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, and holds an M.D.S. in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, along with a B.D.S. from Annamalai University. Throughout his career, he has held several academic leadership positions, including Professor and Head of Orthodontics at Sathyabama Dental College and Professor at Ragas Dental College, Chennai. He has also served as Associate Professor at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. His contributions to academic governance include roles as Coordinator for NAAC, ISO, and IQAC, and as a member of the Institutional Review Board. Dr. Faizee is a former Executive Committee Member of the Indian Orthodontic Society and served as Convenor of the Madras Orthodontic Study Group, which was recognized as the best in India for three consecutive years. He has guided numerous postgraduate dissertations and PhD scholars, served as an examiner for over fifteen years, and has presented and published extensively at national and international forums. He continues to be actively involved in advancing dental education, research, and professional development through leadership, mentorship, and academic innovation.
