INTERNATIONAL OUTSTANDING RESEARCHER AWARD
I am a self-driven accounting professional with over a decade of hands-on experience in financial management, reporting, and strategic consulting. My academic background includes a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Technology from Monroe College, where I graduated with a GPA of 3.84 and was honored with a scholarship for outstanding academic performance. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Old Westbury, maintaining a strong academic record throughout my educational journey. Throughout my career, I’ve consistently sought to bridge the gap between traditional financial practices and modern technological solutions. I currently serve as an Accounting Consultant at Steelbro International Company in New York, where I manage both Accounts Payable and Receivable departments. My role involves not only the day-to-day operational oversight but also strategic financial planning and risk mitigation through hedging techniques and commodity exchange analysis. I’m responsible for preparing core financial statements, such as Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports, and I collaborate closely with the controller on pricing strategies and hedge accounting. My passion for continuous learning led me to complete training in SAP’s FICO module, enhancing my ability to integrate financial data systems with real-time business intelligence. I have gained practical experience in configuring and testing key SAP components such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Management, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and integration points like FI-SD and FI-MM. In addition to my professional work, I am committed to developing a strong foundation in regulatory and compliance standards. I have successfully passed all parts of the Enrolled Agent exam and aim to pursue CPA licensure in the future. My software proficiency includes QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP, all of which I leverage to streamline processes and generate analytical insights that inform high-level decision-making. Beyond the technical aspects, I bring strong interpersonal and leadership skills to every role I take on. Whether working independently or in a team setting, I am known for my initiative, organization, and ability to solve problems creatively. Early in my academic life, I was active in the SUNY Old Westbury Accounting Society and earned recognition by winning the Margolin, Winer & Evens Accounting Challenge, which tested my knowledge in ethics, auditing, tax, and financial accounting. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati, I value cultural diversity and effective communication, which has helped me collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, both domestic and international. My long-term vision is to continue growing as a finance and technology leader—someone who not only understands the numbers but can also build systems and strategies that create lasting business value.
