INTERNATIONAL BEST RESEARCHER AWARD-AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS

My name is Kumar Charan Krishna, and I am from Calicut, Kerala. From a very young age, I have been deeply passionate about agriculture, which inspired me to pursue a career in this field. I completed my BSc (Hons) in Agriculture (ICAR-accredited) from the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore, and went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Kerala Agricultural University, Trivandrum. During my postgraduate studies, I conducted in-depth research on the “Economic analysis of production and marketing of sesame in the Onattukara region of Kerala”. My research involved the application of structural network models to understand farmer behavior, especially their willingness to register as authorized GI (Geographical Indication) users. Findings from this study were published in several academic journals, contributing to the growing discourse on GI tagging and sustainable agricultural marketing systems. Apart from academics, I have a strong passion for football. I actively participated in college-level tournaments and have won several trophies and accolades in the sport. Currently, I am preparing for upcoming competitive examinations, aiming to further contribute to the agricultural sector through policy, research, or public service.
