I, Dr. Kavery Bora, presently working as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh, Assam, India, have done my MBBS in 2001 and MD Psychiatry in 2007 from Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh under Dibrugarh University. I have served in several Government Medical Colleges of Assam namely Guwahati Medical College, Jorhat Medical College and Assam Medical College since 2008 in various capacities. I have been treating patients with mental illness for the last 20 years with Under Graduate and Post Graduate Psychiatry teaching experience of more than 14 years. I have over 14 publications in reputed International and National Journals to my credit. I have contributed 3 book chapters in various psychiatry books. My area of interest in Schizophrenia, Women Mental Health and Child and Adolescent Mental Health. I am avidly involved in various community awareness program to spread awareness about psychiatric illness, its prevention and to reduce stigma in the community. I am a life fellow of Indian Psychiatric Society. I have successfully organized Annual Zonal Conference of IPS- East Zone in 2014 at Dibrugarh as Organizing Secretary. I am also a life member of Indian Medical Association, Dibrugarh Branch, Assam, India. I have been delivering speeches in various conference and CMEs as resource person. My research work mostly focus on various Adult Psychiatric Illnesses. I have also been appointed as Internal Examiner of Post Graduate Psychiatry Examination from Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences on 2 occasions. I have been guiding Post Graduate Psychiatry thesis for more than 3 years. I have also done many live talk shows and live phone-in program in All India Radio, Dibrugarh, Radio Gyan Malini, a community radio centre of Diburgarh University and local TV channel ‘Aamar V&S’. I am also working as Nodal Officer of Distict Mental Health Program of Dibrugarh District from Assam Medical College & Hospital. I also served as a member of Disability Certification Board (Dibrugarh District) of Assam Medical College & Hospital for certifying persons with disability for many years. I am also associated with ‘Pratishruti’ an NGO working in the field of Palliative care for Cancer patients as Specialist Doctor.
