Dr. Beatriz Valle received her PhD degree with honours in Chemical Engineering in 2008 at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Biscay (Spain). She is currently a leading research fellow at the prestigious Catalytic Processes and Waste Valorization group (CPWV) at the same institution. She has developed her research career in the field of biomass waste valorization, and more specifically in the production of hydrogen, fuels and value-added chemicals from biomass derived oxygenates.

Dr. Valle has extensive experience in investigation, formal data analysis, project management, team building, and teaching. She has been supervisor of two doctoral thesis and several B. and MS degree final projects.

To date, she has been successfully involved in more than 15 research projects and scientific collaborations. Currently, Dr. Valle is Principal Investigator of research project on Production of fuels and raw materials by catalytic cracking of biomass pyrolysis liquid funded by the Spanish Government and the European Union.

Dr. Valle is a prolific author with relevant contributions in top chemical engineering journals including one outstanding review (DOI 10.1002/jctb.5758) and 60 research articles (Scopus ID 22959176600), with more than 2700 citations. She frequently presents her work and findings at national and international conferences, with more than 105 contributions. She is also serving as Scientific and Organizing Committee Member of several congresses and symposia, and active reviewer in top international journals (Elsevier, ACS, Wiley).
