Tomoki Nishida

I was born in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in 1983 and graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University in 2007. I obtained my medical degree in 2007.

My residency was at Shonan Kamakura General Hospital in Kamakura, Japan, and completed my training with fellowships at Shonan Kamakura General Hospital in general surgery in 2012.

Then I received my training for general thoracic surgery at Department of Thoracic Surgery, Japanese Red Cross Wakayama Medical Center, Wakayama, Japan for three years, and for bronchoscopy at Department of Endoscopy, Respiratory Endoscopy Division, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan for six months.

I have nine years’ experience in general thoracic surgery, with special interest in operation for primary lung cancer and pulmonary intervention. Currently I have a role in educating young residents. Apart from that, I am interested in the medical care in remote rural areas.

I am a member of the Japan Surgical Society, the Japanese Association for Chest Surgery, the Japan Society for Respiratory Endoscopy, the Japanese Association for Thoracic Surgery, and the Japan Lung Cancer Society.
