Dr. R. Sivaraman, working as Associate Professor at D.G. Vaishnav College, Chennai has twenty two years of teaching experience. He has been conferred with National Award for Popularizing mathematics among masses in 2016 by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He was also conferred with the prestigious Indian National Science Academy Teaching award for the year 2018. He has also received two State Government Best Science Book Awards in 2011 and 2012. For his contributions to mathematics, he has won more than fifty prestigious awards so far. He has provided more than
300 lectures conveying the beauty, importance and applications of Mathematics. He has published more than 70 research papers in mathematics. He was member of Editorial Board for more than ten journals in mathematics.
He was a member of the Textbook Writing Committee, Tamil Nadu School Education Department for preparing revised mathematics textbook for eleventh class and chairperson for tenth class. He writes articles and provides puzzles for famous Newspapers like The New Indian Express, Times of India, The Hindu School Edition Paper, Tamil Hindu, Dinamalar Pattam Newspaper. He has also contributed several articles about mathematics in monthly magazines like Ariviyal Oli, Chennai Report, Arumbu and continue to contribute more. He is currently Editor of the Journal “Junior Mathematician” a Quarterly Magazine for school students published by AMTI. He is also Editor of the e-Magazine “Mathematics Pixels” published by Pie Mathematics Association.
For the past twenty years, he teaches most deserving and poor students and made their life to have better living. In view of spreading mathematics among everyone, with the help of his students and well wishers he had initiated an exclusive charitable trust “Pie Mathematics Association” being its Founder Trustee since June 2007. Serving the poor and needy students was his life motto.
